Church Life

Church Life at Belton

At Belton CE Primary School, we fully embrace the Church of England's Vision for Education of ‘life in all its fullness’ (John 10:10).

Religious Education is far more than just an academic subject. In keeping with  Vision and Christian Values, we aim to work alongside parents to bring children to a deeper understanding of the truths of the Christian faith.

Through explicit teaching about Jesus and the Church, and the development of prayer and worship in school, we provide daily experiences where children live the gospel values; have respect for the opinions and beliefs of others, and grow in their own faith. We see this as our core purpose, and alongside their formation as children of God, we strive to ensure that each child fulfils their God-given potential -academically, socially, emotionally and spiritually.

We are lucky to have very close links with our Parish Church which is only a short walk away. The children regularly attend Church, at least once each term, as well as celebrating together at significant liturgical moments in the year. Our friendly Vicar Louise is a regular visitor to our school, supporting in classes and delivering a whole school assembly.

We have strong links with Leicester Dioses and have collaborated with them on various endeavors such as pupil lead worship training.

We celebrate Harvest in church as a way to show advocacy against injustice. Some of our local community requires the use of food banks and as a part of our harvest celebrations we ask the children to donate something to this cause.
